YACS - Yet Another Curta Simulator
This is a VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) Curta simulator made by Olaf Veenstra from the Netherlands.
YACS website: http://members.chello.nl/o.veenstra3/vrml/curta_info/curta_demo.html

You can see all the internal components of a Curta in action! You can move, rotate, change angle of view, zoom in/out, expand/compress, etc. while all components are running, also you can see the model in 3D stereo viewing and hear the smooth noise of the working machine! There is a "Decimal" Curta Type 1 and also there is a "Binary" Curta Type 1!

In the YACS website you have all instructions to use the simulator, but I want to describe in brief:
First you must download and install the free VRML viewer BS Contact from Bitmanagement, click on Installation of the Viewer. Then you must click on the link View the Model On a Web Page (Recommended) to run the on-line simulation of the Decimal (standard) Curta Type 1. Click here to see the Binary Curta. To see the 3D stereo view click here.

There is a standalone version for viewing without an internet connection, click on YACS for off-line viewing for directions.

Animation of a Curta Type II Calculator.
By Alan Eng - Engineering & Product Design.
Source: https://www.behance.net/AlanEng

A good example of 3D animation.
"The calculator was disassembled and the parts were measured with capilers (...)
PTC Creo (software) was used to model each individual part.
The models were assembled to create the calculator and animations were created in 3ds Max"
